About Thames Life
Why
You might be wondering, why launch a printed magazine in a world of scrolling, swiping, and double-tapping? Well, here’s the thing: Thames Life isn’t trying to compete with the internet. It’s here to do something different. Something slower, warmer, and more human.
Inclusive
This magazine is for everyone, from the tech-savvy to the proudly offline. We hope for every reader to find something that resonates, sparks interest or entertains in some way. It’s a chance to celebrate our community in a way that feels personal.
Collaborative
At the relaunch of Thames Life in 2026 we want to produce a magazine that is shaped by local voices, stories, and ideas. It doesn’t have a rigid agenda and it’s our objective that the magazine should continue to be shaped by the comments, ideas and individual areas of expertise of local people over the coming months and years.
Supportive
We’re passionate about championing local businesses. It can be challenging for brilliant initiatives, products, and services to be noticed, especially for small or newly established businesses. At the same time, many people simply appreciate being connected with trusted local providers.
Thames Life aims to bridge that gap. By spotlighting local talent and creating meaningful connections, we help ensure that great businesses reach the people who need them.

Hello, I’m Debs, and I’m delighted to be the new editor of Thames Life magazine.
Having grown up locally and lived in Laleham since 2003, I know our little corner of the world well. So many places here hold personal meaning for me, but the Thames has always been especially significant. I feel incredibly lucky to live near such an important river; rich with history, shaped by generations of local people, and enjoyed by local people and visitors.
With the magazine’s relaunch planned for 2026, I’m excited to celebrate the spirit of our community and strengthen the connection between our readers and local businesses. My aim is to honour the foundations of the original Thames Life while bringing fresh energy, inclusive storytelling, and a renewed sense of partnership to every issue.
